In high rope courses, elements are suspended high off the ground, at least two metres but typically over five.
These courses are often found in forests, as trees can easily be used as anchor points. Alternatively a framework of posts can be used to build high ropes courses in any location.
Participants wear harnesses with special equipment which allows them to attach to a safety system which is fitted round the course. High ropes courses can be either instructor led or self guided. The instructor led elements are generally achieved from the ground up where as self guided elements take the user from tree to tree, and can be thought of as aerial trekking.
